To use the vinometer correctly, you must fill it halfway up the funnel with the liquid you need to test, holding the vinometer vertically. The liquid will come out in drops immediately from the lower end (about ten drops); then pour the rest of the liquid into a container and place the vinometer on a flat surface using the funnel as a support. The liquid in the vinometer will slowly descend and stop at the alcoholic strength of the liquid you are testing.
